Below are some links to various church activities that aren't mentioned on another page. Please enjoy them!
The combined choirs from Alanson and Harbor Springs were in great form on November 22, 2009. Here's a couple of their songs for your enjoyment: (song 1) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSjPpNRjw3o and (song 2) "We Gather Together" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g96GdA0MBEY
We were blessed to have Jamie Platt as our soloist. Listen to her sing at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HP-lrYAz7_4 ... what a beautiful voice!
To see Gig Stewart lead the choir, check out six videos from the Alanson services held on July 5 at http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=burlee04&search_type=&aq=f (if you have dial-up or a slow computer, when you click on a video and it starts to download, it'll download few seconds at a time. After it's downloaded, click the play button again and it'll play through without the jerky stops. Feel free to see Robin's other videos at that link--she's been trying out a new little video gizmo, which is turning out to be a lot of fun!)
Not a video, but a worthwhile, money-saving endeavor! Every month: Check out Angel Food Ministries at http://www.angelfoodministries.com/Default.asp, which takes monthly orders for bulk food (like a co-op). You generally have to order sometime in the first half of the month, and food is distributed the last Saturday of the month. Two convenient pickup locations are at the Emmanuel Evangelical Church in downtown Petoskey (phone: 347-2933), or at the Transfiguration Episcopal Church in Indian River. The menus change every month, and the website has easy links for you to follow. Prices average $35 or less, and include choices of meats, meals, fruits, seafood, etc. Quality, fresh food at affordable prices--if you don't want any for yourself, order some and donate it to the food pantries.
